Dr. Satawat Tanarat, Deputy Dean of the School of Energy and Environment (SEEN), University of Phayao (UP), together with project coordinators, conducted a field visit to monitor the progress of the collaborative initiative with the Phayao Provincial Administrative Organization (PAO). The project involves support for heavy machinery (excavators) to improve and develop water storage systems in targeted areas, including Champawai Subdistrict, Mueang Phayao District; Dok Kham Tai Subdistrict; and San Khong Subdistrict, Dok Kham Tai District, Phayao Province.

This activity is part of the Sustainable Water Management for Community Project, which aims to develop a model for applying the Khok–Nong (integrated) – Na (mixed) approach to enhance water retention capacity during the rainy season (approximately 2,175 cubic meters). The initiative seeks to address flooding and drought challenges, while promoting sustainable agricultural water management and strengthening livelihood security for farmers in the targeted areas. The project is expected to be further expanded to cover additional areas in a comprehensive manner.

This project is conducted under a research program funded by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), titled “Application of the Khok–Nong (Integrated) – Na (Mixed) Approach for Water-Efficient Crop Rotation and Low-Carbon Rice Cultivation in Flood- and Drought-Prone Areas along Kwan Phayao and the Ing River Basin in Phayao and Chiang Rai Provinces.” The project is led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sukthai Pongpattanasiri.

ดร.ศตวรรษ ทนารัตน์ รองคณบดีคณะพลังงานและสิ่งแวดล้อม ม.พะเยา พร้อมด้วยเจ้าหน้าที่ผู้ประสานงานโครงการบูรณาการความร่วมมือกับ องค์การบริหารส่วนจังหวัดพะเยา สนับสนุนเครื่องจักรกลหนัก (รถแมคโคร) เพื่อปรับปรุงและพัฒนาแหล่งกักเก็บน้ำในพื้นที่เป้าหมาย และตำบลจำป่าหวาย อำเภอเมืองพะเยา ตำบลดอกคำใต้ และตำบลสันโค้ง อำเภอดอกคำใต้ จ.พะเยา ตามโครงการจัดการน้ำอย่างยั่งยืนเพื่อชุมชน เพื่อพัฒนาต้นแบบการประยุกต์ใช้ โคก-หนอง (ร่วม) -นา (ผสม) เพิ่มศักยภาพการกักเก็บน้ำในฤดูฝน (ประมาณ 2,175 ลูกบาศก์เมตร) อันเป็นการแก้ไขปัญหาน้ำท่วมและภัยแล้ง พร้อมยกระดับการบริหารจัดการน้ำสำหรับการเกษตรอย่างยั่งยืน เสริมสร้างความมั่นคงด้านอาชีพให้แก่เกษตรกรในพื้นที่ข้างต้น ก่อนขยายผลการดำเนินงานเพิ่มเติม สู่พื้นที่เป้าหมายอย่างครอบคลุมต่อไป

โครงการดังกล่าวฯ เป็นการดำเนินงานภายใต้โครงการวิจัยที่ได้รับการสนับสนุนจากสำนักงานการวิจัยแห่งชาติ (วช.) โครงการการประยุกต์ใช้หลักการโคก-หนอง(ร่วม)-นา(ผสม) เพื่อการผลิตพืชหมุนเวียนแบบใช้น้ำแบบประหยัดและการปลูกข้าวคาร์บอนต่ำในพื้นที่น้ำท่วมและภัยแล้งริมกว๊าน-ลุ่มน้ำอิง จังหวัดพะเยาและจังหวัดเชียงราย โดยมี ผศ.ดร.สุขทัย พงศ์พัฒนศิริ เป็นหัวหน้าโครงการ
