On November 7, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sittichai Pimonsree, researcher and climate change expert from the School of Energy and Environment, University of Phayao, was honored to serve as a guest speaker on the topic “Climate Change Situation and Its Impacts on Cities.”

The seminar was organized by the Phayao Provincial Office of Public Works and Town & Country Planning in celebration of World Town Planning Day, and held at the Mueang Phayao Meeting Room.

Dr. Sittichai’s lecture focused on enhancing understanding of climate characteristics, climate change, and its impacts on Phayao city, such as floods, droughts, and the PM2.5 haze problem, which have severe effects on people’s quality of life, society, and economy. He also proposed solutions for climate adaptation through nature-based approaches (Nature-based Solutions).

The seminar attracted participants from various sectors, including academics, students, and representatives from local agencies, who joined to exchange knowledge and ideas on how cities can adapt to climate change in the future.

วันที่ 7 พ.ย. 68 รศ.ดร.สิทธิชัย พิมลศรี นักวิจัย ผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ คณะพลังงานและสิ่งแวดล้อม ม.พะเยา ได้รับเกียรติเป็นวิทยากรบรรยายในหัวข้อ “สถานการณ์และผลกระทบของ Climate Change ต่อเมือง” จัดขึ้นโดย สำนักงานโยธาธิการและผังเมืองจังหวัดพะเยา ในการสัมมนาทางวิชาการเนื่องในวันผังเมืองโลก ณ ห้องประชุมเมืองพะเยา

ซึ่งเนื้อหาการบรรยายได้มุ่งเน้นความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับลักษณะภูมิอากาศ การเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ ผลกระทบของการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศต่อเมืองพะเยา อาทิ อุทกภัย ภัยแล้ง และ ปัญหาหมอกควัน PM2.5 ที่ส่งผลกระทบรุนแรงต่อคุณภาพชีวิต สังคม เศรษฐกิจของประชาชน รวมถึงการเสนอแนวทาง (Solution) ในการปรับตัวรับมือกับการเปลี่ยนแปลงของสภาพภูมิอากาศ (Climate change) ด้วยวิธีการพึ่งพาธรรมชาติ (Nature base solution) โดยมีผู้สนใจเข้าร่วมจากหลายภาคส่วน ทั้งนักวิชาการ นักศึกษา และผู้แทนจากหน่วยงานท้องถิ่น ในการแลกเปลี่ยนความรู้และแนวทางการปรับตัวของเมืองต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงของสภาพภูมิอากาศ ต่อไป
