On December 12, 2024, University of Phayao (UP), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sittichai Pimonsree, the School of Energy and Environment, Asst. Prof. Dr.Niti Iamchuen, the SCHOOL OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT), and Dr. kwansirinapa Thanawong, the School of Engineering, collaborated with the Water Management Center, Phayao Provincial Administrative Organization (PY-PAO). The meeting was attended by Mr. Attakorn Chatranan, Secretary to the Governor of PY-PAO and administrative member. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the operational guidelines of the Water Management Center of PY-PAO and the development of practical training courses (workshops) on the application of digital technology to support planning and decision-making for water resource management for local government organizations (LGO) and farmers.
The meeting took place at the meeting room of PY-PAO and received research funding from the Program Management Unit on Area Based Development (PMU A) to prepare LGO and related agencies, including farmers, to efficiently plan water management in their areas. This aims to address climate change, solve drought problems, and increase income through effective knowledge and information.
