The School of Business and Communication Arts, University of Phayao, reaffirmed its commitment to workplace safety and emergency preparedness by organizing a hands-on workshop entitled "Emergency First Aid and Basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)" under the Safety and Basic Life Support Enhancement Project for Fiscal Year 2026. The workshop was held on 9 July 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at the School of Business and Communication Arts.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Assistant Professor Dr. Tanyatip Kharuhayothin, Dean of the School of Business and Communication Arts, who warmly welcomed the guest instructors and participants. In her opening remarks, she emphasized the importance of emergency preparedness, noting that accidents and medical emergencies can occur unexpectedly in both daily life and the workplace. She highlighted that providing prompt and appropriate first aid in accordance with established medical principles can significantly increase a patient's chances of survival while reducing the severity of injuries. She further stated that the School aims to provide participants with practical, hands-on learning experiences that strengthen their knowledge, develop essential life-saving skills, and build confidence in delivering emergency assistance before professional medical personnel arrive. Ultimately, the initiative seeks to foster a sustainable Safety Culture within the organization.
The workshop was led by experienced professionals, including Ms. Panatchakorn Sunanta and Mr. Arunsamich Nilpat, Emergency Medical Technicians from the University of Phayao Hospital, together with Mr. Kritsana Wiratkasem, a staff member from the School of Energy and Environment. Drawing upon their professional expertise and practical experience, the instructors delivered comprehensive theoretical instruction alongside hands-on practical training.
The training covered essential topics, including First Aid, Basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and the proper use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Particular emphasis was placed on hands-on practice, enabling participants to acquire practical competencies that can be confidently applied in real-life emergency situations.
The workshop brought together a diverse group of participants who play important roles in maintaining a safe campus environment, including academic staff, support staff, students, housekeeping personnel, and security officers. Upon completion of the training, participants are expected to possess enhanced knowledge, practical skills, and greater confidence in providing effective emergency assistance. These competencies will not only benefit the participants themselves but also contribute to the safety and well-being of their families, colleagues, and the wider community.
