UP and TSRI Advance Research Utilization for Sustainable Regional Development

The University of Phayao (UP) welcomed a delegation from Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI) during April 27–28, 2026, to monitor the implementation of research utilization across Phayao and Phrae provinces. The delegation was led by Professor Dr. Wisanu Meeyoo, Deputy Director of TSRI, and Associate Professor Dr. Sudsawat Duangsrisai, along with TSRI officials.

The visit was hosted by Professor Samur Thanoi, Ph.D. Vice President for Research and Innovation, who presented the university’s research performance and strategic direction. The program emphasized the importance of Research Utilization (RU) in connecting research outputs to practical applications across the value chain, aiming to generate tangible economic and social impacts.

Highlighted projects included natural-dye Shibori textiles in Mae Ing, community development initiatives at Kad Kong Noi, culturally inspired fabric doll innovation in Chiang Muan, and bio-industry products in Phrae province. These initiatives demonstrate the successful translation of research into real-world benefits for local communities.

The visit also enabled direct engagement with stakeholders and research users, providing valuable insights into outcomes, impacts, and challenges. These inputs will help guide future research directions to better align with local needs and support sustainable development.

The collaboration reflects a strong commitment between TSRI and the University of Phayao to enhance innovation ecosystems, strengthen research utilization, and drive long-term regional growth.
