UP Hosts Special Lecture “Getting to Know Erasmus+” to Elevate International Collaboration

March 5, 2026, at the University of Phayao – The Division of Educational Services and the Division of Research Administration, University of Phayao, in collaboration with Payap University and Burapha University, organized a special lecture titled “Getting to Know Erasmus+”. Held under the International Academic Cooperation Development Project, this event served as a vital platform for faculty members and staff to expand international academic partnerships and systematically enhance their potential in applying for European Union grants.

Professor Dr. Samur Thanoi, Vice President for Research and Innovation at the University of Phayao, presided over the event, delivering the welcoming remarks and officially opening the project. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phanintra Teeranon, Assistant to the President, also attended the event. A total of 50 interested faculty members and staff participated in both onsite and online formats.

The lecture was conducted in a hybrid format at the Active Learning Room in the New Lecture Hall Building, University of Phayao, with a live broadcast via Zoom from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The session was led by two highly experienced guest speakers from Payap University:

• Mr. Michael Meallem – Director of the International Relations Office

• Lecturer Waruth Kaosol – Deputy Director of the International Relations Office

Both speakers shared their expertise, providing in-depth information and exchanging valuable experiences. Participants gained comprehensive insights, including:

• A clear understanding of the structure and categories of Erasmus+ funding.

• In-depth techniques for preparing outstanding and globally competitive project proposals.

• Practical guidelines for establishing Strategic Partnerships with leading European universities.

• Success stories from real-world experiences, along with precautions in project management.

This special lecture marks a significant milestone in inspiring and preparing the personnel of the University of Phayao and its collaborative networks to step onto the international academic stage and build sustainable partnerships with the European region in the future.
