Medical Technology Program and Phayao Hospital Blood Bank Unit Jointly Host “Blood Donation”

The Medical Technology Program of the School of Allied Health Sciences, University of Phayao, in collaboration with the Blood Bank Unit of the Medical Technology Division, Phayao Hospital, organized the event “Blood Donation” on Friday, 6 February 2026, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., at the multipurpose area of the School of Allied Health Sciences.

The event was held as simultaneously fostering a spirit of volunteerism and social responsibility among students of the University of Phayao. The activity encouraged students and staff to contribute to the well-being of others through voluntary blood donation, with all collected blood intended for medical use in saving patients’ lives.

In addition to promoting regular, voluntary blood donation, the initiative served as an integration of community academic services, teaching and learning, student quality development, and special activities. It aimed to instill professional pride among participants and to create meaningful learning experiences.

Notably, third-year Medical Technology students enrolled in the Transfusion Science II course gained practical training through hands-on involvement in the operation of a mobile blood donation unit. Their responsibilities included donor screening—comprising health interviews, preliminary health assessment, blood pressure measurement, hemoglobin estimation, and blood grouping—as well as assisting in blood collection procedures and post-donation care.
