School of Engineering University of Phayao organized a readiness assessment meeting for network institutions participating in the High-Skilled Workforce Development Project to support the advancement of the Electric Vehicle (EV) industry. The meeting was held from 2–3 December 2025 at the Chuchat Kiattipang Meeting Room and the School Meeting Room EN 1104. This initiative is part of the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on collaborative support for the High-Skilled Workforce Development Project for the Modern Automotive Industry, jointly undertaken by the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, and King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB).
The meeting was honored by the presence of
• Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thitirath Cheowsuwan, Vice President for Policy and Planning, and
• Asst. Prof. Suwit Panyawong, Vice President for Environment and Landscape, University of Phayao,
together with
• Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nattapong Damrongwiriyanupap, Dean of the School of Engineering,
• Dr. Prus Pingmuanglek, Director of the Center for Environment and Sustainable Management,
along with the administrative team of the School of Engineering. All participants attended the briefing on institutional readiness for joining the national network under the High-Skilled Workforce Development Project. The faculty was also honored to welcome distinguished representatives from King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, including
• Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thawatchai Wongchang, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, and
• Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chaiyut Samphawakhup, Head of the Center for Modern Automotive Technology and Innovation.
They shared their extensive expertise in curriculum development, integrated pedagogical approaches, and strategies for establishing essential infrastructure to foster the production of high-skilled personnel aligned with the rapidly growing demands of the EV industry.
This meeting marks a significant milestone for the University of Phayao in strengthening its capacity in modern automotive engineering. It also serves as an important platform for knowledge exchange with partner institutions, contributing to the enhancement of graduate quality, the development of a high-skilled workforce, and the long-term advancement of the EV industry at the national level.
