On September 5, 2025, School of Engineering, University of Phayao, led by the executive team, program chairs, and School members, paid an official visit to BYD Auto (Thailand) Co., Ltd. This company operates the first electric vehicle manufacturing plant in ASEAN, located in Thailand, and is recognized as the country’s largest distributor and top-selling provider of BYD electric vehicles in the southern region. The visit took place at the company’s headquarters and across 11 production and assembly units, under the framework of the initiative “Building Collaborative Networks for Cooperative Education and Curriculum Development, School of Engineering, University of Phayao”
The activity aimed to integrate industrial expertise, technological advancements, and best practices into the design of academic curricula, thereby enhancing teaching and learning approaches and equipping students with the essential skills required to enter the labor market.
During the program, the delegation from School of Engineering was presented with an introductory video about the company and engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges of knowledge with representatives of BYD Auto (Thailand) Co., Ltd. These interactions focused on exploring opportunities for academic–industrial collaboration in Rayong Province.
This initiative serves as a vital platform for knowledge exchange in the field of electric vehicle (EV) industries, which play a pivotal role in advancing modern automotive technologies and driving the nation’s industrial development.
