On September 4, 2025, School of Engineering, University of Phayao, led by its executive team, program chairs, and School members, participated in a knowledge-sharing and curriculum development forum. The session, under the theme “Advancing Future-Oriented Engineering Education through Cooperative Education, Internship Programs, and Innovative Curriculum Design to Meet Industrial Demands”, was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Thawatchai Wongchang, Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB). The event was organized as part of the initiative “Building Networks for Cooperative Education and Curriculum Development” by the School of Engineering, University of Phayao, with the aim of strengthening graduate competencies in alignment with industrial needs and the nation’s future development.

This collaborative engagement fostered a partnership between the University of Phayao and KMUTNB Rayong Campus, focusing on developing cooperative education networks to supply a highly skilled workforce to the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) industrial zone. The cooperation also emphasized curriculum enhancement in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and industrial engineering.

In addition, the delegation visited laboratories and training centers, and attended a lecture on “Advanced Tools and Equipment for Application in Mechanical Engineering Education and Research” The visit provided opportunities to study effective models of teaching, hands-on training, and technology-enhanced learning in higher education. These insights will serve as key guidelines for revising and improving the engineering curricula at the University of Phayao to ensure relevance, quality, and responsiveness to the evolving demands of 21st-century industries.
