Engineering UP went to the field to restore and repair electrical systems, assisting households in Pong District affected by flooding

School of Engineering, University of Phayao, participated in the project "Restoration and Repair of Electrical and Lighting Systems for Homes, Schools, and Religious Sites Affected by Floods" in Pong District, Phayao Province. This initiative was organized by the Thai Engineers Volunteer Foundation in collaboration with the Governor of Phayao, Mr.Rattaphon Naradisorn, representatives from the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, and local agencies.

Associate Professor Dr. Nattapong Damrongwiriyanupap, Dean of the School of Engineering, along with Associate Professor Dr. Preeda Chaimahawan, Chair of the Master of Engineering Program in Civil Engineering, and Assistant Professor Dr. Kreangsuk Kraikitrat, Chair of the Bachelor of Engineering Program in Electrical Engineering, recognized the impacts and damage caused by recent flash floods. They led a team of instructors and students from the Electrical Engineering program to the affected areas on November 8-9, 2024, to assist residents whose homes and electrical systems had been damaged. This initiative was part of a project aimed at restoring and repairing electrical and lighting systems in homes, schools, and religious sites impacted by the flooding.
