On November 17, 2566, School of Pharmaceutical sciences, University of Phayao, led by Associate Professor Surasak Saokaew, Dean of School of Pharmaceutical sciences, University of Phayao, participated in the annual academic conference of the Northern Pharmacists Group in 2023, titled "Unity Pharmacists: Stronger Together for Better Patient Care." The event was honored by Mr. Phusit Somjit, the Governor of Phitsanulok Province, who presided over the opening ceremony. Dr.Kraisuk Petchraborwon, the provincial public health doctor of Phitsanulok, and Dr.Suchart Phojaroenpong, the director of Buddhachinaraj hospital, Phitsanulok, along with the management team, also participated in the opening ceremony held at the Convention Room of Topland Hotel, Phitsanulok Province.
The Northern Pharmacists Group, a branch of the Pharmaceutical Association of Thailand under the Royal Patronage, aims to bring together pharmacists from various pharmaceutical fields in the northern region to enhance knowledge and professional capabilities. The goal is to provide the highest level of pharmaceutical care to patients efficiently. This platform also serves as an exchange for ideas among pharmacists in the northern provinces, totaling 18 provinces.
The activities within the event included group activities for professional development and pharmaceutical care, special presentations by speakers, lectures and knowledge sharing on diseases and medication use. There were also activities related to moral and ethical aspects and the relationships among Northern Pharmacists. Additionally, the Northern Pharmacists Group provided scholarship funds for students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Phayao University. Two students, Miss Phataraporn Puntasawasdi, a third-year student, and Miss Montakarn Chanatot, a first-year student, each received a scholarship of 5,000 Baht.
