On Wednesday, January 7, 2026, the School of Liberal Arts organized the "New Year Merit-Making Ceremony 2026" at Room CE 14206, School of Liberal Arts, University of Phayao. The ceremony was presided over by Asst. Prof. Dr. Chittima Kaweera, Dean of the School, and attended by administrators, faculty members, support staff, and students. The event aimed to uphold cultural traditions and boost the morale of the school’s personnel.
The ceremony included several meaningful activities:
Tribute to the Queen Mother: A session to pay homage and express profound gratitude to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother.
Religious Rites: Participants engaged in almsgiving (dried food and rice), offering of allowable beverages (Nam Pana), chanting, and mindfulness meditation.
Buddhist Chanting and Offerings: Monks performed traditional chanting and delivered the Five Precepts, followed by the presentation of food and offerings (Thai-than) by the administrators and program representatives.
Dhamma Talk: A special lecture titled "Dhamma Guides the Heart: Building Ethics in the Workplace," which integrated ethical principles into professional life to inspire and guide staff members.
The event concluded with participants receiving blessings and the sprinkling of holy water from the monks, fostering a sense of peace and auspiciousness as the school begins the year 2026.
