On 22 September 2026, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kritchaya Issakul and Dr. Sumol Nilratnisakorn, together with students from the B.Sc. Program in Energy and Environmental Management, School of Energy and Environment (SEEN), University of Phayao, visited Ban Dok Bua Community, Ban Tun Subdistrict, Mueang Phayao District, Phayao Province to learn about community-based renewable energy practices.
The students explored how rice husks, a by-product of local rice milling, can be used as household fuel, providing a practical approach to reducing waste, lowering household energy costs, and making effective use of local resources.
The learning activity was supported by Mr. Preecha Jaiban, a local innovator, who shared his knowledge and demonstrated the production and use of rice-husk stoves. The activity also highlighted the application of the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy through practical and sustainable use of community resources.
The field visit aimed to provide students with hands-on learning beyond the classroom, deepen their understanding of local contexts in Phayao, and inspire them to apply their knowledge to everyday life and contribute to sustainable community development.
