The Finance and Investment Program, School of Business and Communication Arts (BCA), University of Phayao, organized the “Investment Concepts for Wealth: Financial Adventure” project, an interactive investment simulation designed to enhance financial and investment literacy among students and teachers at Fak Kwan Wittayakom School, Mueang Phayao District, Phayao Province.
On 1 September 2026, the Finance and Investment Program, School of Business and Communication Arts, University of Phayao, led by Dr. Somkid Yaken, Project Leader, together with faculty members, staff, and 21 fourth-year students, conducted the “Investment Concepts for Wealth: Financial Adventure” project at Fak Kwan Wittayakom School, Moo 9, Ban Tun Subdistrict, Mueang Phayao District, Phayao Province.
The initiative integrated the course “Integrating Knowledge into Professional Innovation in the Community” with the University’s academic outreach mission, through close collaboration with the school’s director and teachers.
The project was developed based on a prior community field study and analysis of financial and investment-related issues using three community study tools. The findings informed the development of a proactive learning experience through the Financial Adventure online simulation game, which consists of four learning stages based on different stages of life:
Starting Fresh: Ages 20–29 – Beginning a career with initial capital, learning the fundamentals of investment, and developing sound investment habits from an early stage.
Building a Foundation: Ages 30–39 – Entering a stage of life where family, housing, and new goals become increasingly important, requiring more comprehensive financial planning.
Navigating the Peak: Ages 40–49 – Reaching a period of peak income and opportunities while facing greater financial pressures, with an emphasis on maintaining balance and managing risks when financial challenges arise.
A Stable Path: Ages 50–59 – Moving toward clearer long-term goals, preserving accumulated wealth, and gradually reducing investment risks to achieve greater financial stability.
Through the Financial Adventure game, participating Grade 12 students and teachers, totaling more than 88 participants, gained knowledge and hands-on experience in investment and risk management through an interactive and engaging learning process.
Beyond enhancing financial and investment literacy among participants, the project provided fourth-year students with an opportunity to develop practical experience in working with communities. Students were involved throughout the process, from collecting community data and identifying issues to planning and implementing the “Investment Concepts for Wealth” activities based on real-world contexts.
The initiative also enabled Grade 12 students and teachers to apply the knowledge gained to their future financial planning and investment decisions. The project reflects the commitment of the School of Business and Communication Arts, University of Phayao, to continuously integrate academic knowledge with professional innovation and extend meaningful learning opportunities and academic services to communities.
