On 11 May 2026, Kamolphong Rattanasanguanwong, Associate Dean for Student Experience and Quality Development at the School of Business Administration and Communication Arts, University of Phayao, led students to participate in the “STARTUP THAILAND LEAGUE 2026: Regional Pitching” competition held at the Northern Science Park, Chiang Mai University. The event aimed to enhance students’ capabilities in innovation, foster an entrepreneurial mindset, and promote the integration of interdisciplinary knowledge toward the development of products and services that address societal needs and sustainably improve quality of life.
In this competition, the University of Phayao presented two student startup teams whose projects reflected interdisciplinary collaboration among the fields of health sciences, agriculture, business administration, and communication arts. The initiatives were developed to create innovations with commercial potential and positive social impact.
The “Super Cat” team presented “Cat-Alyst,” a functional cat food product designed to promote pet health. Team members included Mr. Kittiphop Phromprasert and Ms. Siriporn Maimun from the Department of Animal Science, School of Agriculture and Natural Resources; Ms. Monthathip Sompongphan from the Communication Management Program; and Ms. Nopjittra Angkuttaranon from the Economics Program, School of Business Administration and Communication Arts. The team was supervised by Kamolphong Rattanasanguanwong, Associate Dean for Student Experience and Quality Development, School of Business Administration and Communication Arts; Assistant Professor Dr. Somchat Thana, D.V.M., Department of Animal Science, School of Agriculture and Natural Resources; and Ajarn Nawaporn Ketsuwan from the Communication Management Program, School of Business Administration and Communication Arts.
Meanwhile, the “Zenix” team presented “Mitrava,” a smoking cessation aid developed to support public health and reduce health-risk behaviors. Team members included Mr. Prawit Pengruean, Mr. Nattasit Kaewrodwong, Ms. Bussakorn Likhitsitthiphan, and Ms. Waratchaya Yubonket from the Pharmaceutical Care Program, School of Pharmacy, together with Mr. Warinthorn Kornwet from the Digital Marketing Program, School of Business Administration and Communication Arts. The team was advised by Kamolphong Rattanasanguanwong, Associate Dean for Student Experience and Quality Development, School of Business Administration and Communication Arts; Ms. Theeraporn Sungphai, Practitioner-Level Pharmacist, Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine; and Assistant Professor Dr. Maleerak Attsinthong from the Pharmaceutical Care Program, School of Pharmacy.
Participation in this competition reflects the University of Phayao’s commitment to promoting interdisciplinary learning, innovation development, and socially responsible entrepreneurship. The initiative also aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being through the development of health-related products; SDG 4: Quality Education through experiential learning opportunities; SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure through creative and innovative product development; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through interdisciplinary and inter-organizational collaboration.
The results of the selection process for the Demo Day round at SITE 2026 in Bangkok will be officially announced next week. Teams selected for the next round will have the opportunity to showcase their innovations on a national stage.
