School of Science, University of Phayao Conducts SROI Assessment in Mae Na Ruea! Elevating Research for Sustainable Community Development
    
The School of Science at University of Phayao is advancing its Reinventing University project and the "1 Faculty 1 Sustainable Development Goal (SDG)" initiative by organizing an important activity: "Social Return on Investment (SROI) Assessment" to measure the social and economic value generated from community development projects in Mae Na Ruea Subdistrict, Mueang District, Phayao Province.

This intensive activity was held on December 13-14, 2025, bringing together interdisciplinary expertise from school members in the Chemistry Program and Mathematics Program at the School of Science, University of Phayao, along with expert School from the School of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), University of Phayao.

🤝 Leading Mentors Strengthen the Initiative

The activity was honored by the participation of experts—Assistant Professor Dr. Terdsak Yano and Dr. Tossapond Kewprasopsak from Chiang Mai University—who served as mentors, providing close guidance throughout the assessment process.

The mentoring team offered in-depth consultation across several critical dimensions, from reviewing assessment tools and preparing field survey questions to developing accurate indicators and proxies that align with SROI principles.

📈 Key Objectives:

This SROI assessment aims to translate the social impact of community development projects into tangible value, enabling the School of Science to:

Measure Efficiency - Evaluate project implementation results against SDG targets in a concrete manner
Strategic Planning - Use the data obtained to improve and accurately plan future project implementation
Build Confidence - Communicate the positive impact of the School to society and network partners
The School of Science at University of Phayao is committed to utilizing scientific capabilities to create sustainable innovation, and this SROI assessment serves as a crucial mechanism for elevating research and academic services to maximize benefits for the community moving forward.
