The University of Phayao, in partnership with the School of Energy and Environment and the Center for Environment and Sustainable Management, hosted Module 4 of the Executive Training Program on Carbon Neutrality Management. This two-day program took place on August 25-26, 2025 at Chiang Mai University, the Energy Research and Development Institute-Nakhonping, and Centara Riverside Hotel in Chiang Mai. The goal of the program was to provide senior executives with the necessary knowledge and strategies to lead the university towards achieving sustainable carbon neutrality.
On August 25, the participants visited Chiang Mai University’s Tawan Kangwanpong Conference Room, the Energy Research and Development Institute–Nakhonping, and the Integrated Biomass Management Center. This study visit provided valuable insights into waste management systems and innovative technologies that convert waste into clean energy, offering a practical model for low-carbon campus development.
The training on August 26 included lectures and workshops led by Associate Professor Torpong Kreetachat, Ph.D.Dean, School of Energy and Environment, on“Analyzing and Applying Approaches for University Development towards Carbon Neutral Organizations” andDr. Prus Pingmuanglek Director, Center of Environment and Sustainable Management on “Collaborative Efforts for the University of Phayao’s Path to Sustainable Carbon Neutrality.”
The program concluded with a certificate presentation ceremony, presided over by Associate Professor Supakorn Pongbangpho, Ph.D.President, University of Phayao This executive training marks a significant step in strengthening leadership capacity and reaffirming the university’s commitment to becoming a carbon-neutral institution in the future.
