The School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Phayao and Phrae Hospital recently held a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish an academic collaboration and promote the development of pharmacy graduates. Representatives from both institutions were present at the event, which took place on August 18, 2025 at Phrae Hospital. The ceremony was marked by a shared dedication to building robust academic networks with the goal of enhancing the capabilities of pharmacy professionals.

The event was graced by the presence of Ms. Napapan Thananchai, Deputy Head of the Pharmacy Division at Phrae Hospital, who provided an introduction to the hospital. This was followed by a presentation from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supang Khondee, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Internationalization at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Phayao, who gave an overview of the faculty.

Subsequently, Associate Professor Dr. Surasak Saokaew, R.Ph. Dean, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Phayao, emphasized the objectives and importance of this collaboration. He highlighted that the MOU aims to strengthen clinical training facilities to adequately support both the Doctor of Pharmacy program and short-term training courses, enhance the quality of pharmaceutical care services, foster efficient resource sharing, and promote the creation of new knowledge through research and innovation. Ultimately, this partnership is expected to raise the standards of healthcare services tailored to the local context.

This collaboration is also set to bring about tangible benefits in various areas, including the development of professional competencies, the exchange of academic knowledge, mutual academic support, and the establishment of a strong network between the two institutions. Such efforts will not only foster shared learning opportunities for students and healthcare professionals but also contribute to building a more effective and sustainable healthcare system.

During the signing ceremony, the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by representatives from Phrae Hospital: Dr. Vichin Chotipatibhandhu, Dr. Jutharat Pitiputtipong, and Ms. Napapan Thananchai; as well as representatives from the University of Phayao: Associate Professor Dr. Surasak Saokaew, R.Ph., Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supang Khondee, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Preyanet Wilairat.

The event concluded with an exchange of souvenirs and a group photo session, symbolizing the strong partnership between the two institutions. This collaboration is expected to pave the way for academic advancement, the cultivation of high-quality pharmacy graduates, and the continued improvement of healthcare services in the future.
