On Friday, October 25, 2024, the School of Energy and Environment (SEEN), University of Phayao (UP), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Torpong Kreetachat, the Dean, along with Dr. Poramate Sittisun, the project leader, and project staff, visited Mae Ka Hua Tung village in Mae Ka sub-district, Mueang, Phayao.
This visit was part of the university’s "One School, One Innovative Community" project for the fiscal year 2024. The project, titled "Development of Learning Spaces for Energy Technology in Agriculture," focuses on using solar-powered water pumping technology to develop learning spaces for technology and innovation. The goal is to train targeted farmer groups in comprehensive agricultural management, such as solar-powered water pumping, pruning and shaping of fruit trees, and composting from local biomass residues. This initiative aims to address challenges faced by farmers, including high fuel costs for irrigation and low-quality crop yields. Ultimately, this project seeks to reduce expenses, increase income, and improve the quality of life and well-being for local farmers, who have shown strong interest and cooperation in the project.
