On August 31, 2023, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Torpong Kreethachat, Dean of the School of Energy and Environment (SEEN), University of Phayao (UP), joined by a team of educators and researchers, propose the outcomes of a project titled "Enhancing Small-Scale Farm Management through Digital Integration in Conjunction with the BCG Economic Model." These were presented before a committee from the Institute of Innovation and Technology Transfer.
The project was made possible with the supporting of the Social Innovation Development Project (SID) for the upper northern region during the Fiscal Year 2022. The presentation took place at Saeng Dao Farm in Phayao, a location where technology and innovation have been employed to oversee the environment within a piglet breeding facility. Through the precise regulation of temperature and humidity, coupled with comprehensive efforts to reduce the facility's environmental footprint, the project effectively modernizes conventional agriculture practices.
Central to its approach is the alignment with the BCG economic model, emphasizing technology management and application for sustainable practices. The project emerges not only as a successful case study but also as an exemplar for neighboring small-scale swine farmers, a meaningful solution to environmental challenges while serving as a testament to the potential of innovative, technology-driven approaches in agriculture.
