On May 29, 2023. Asst. Prof. Dr. Anusorn Boonpoke, a researcher from the School of Energy and Environment - SEEN, University of Phayao, has embarked on a collaborative project. This endeavor involves working alongside Assoc. Prof. Dr.Sirintornthep Towprayoon, Dr.Nittaya Cha-un, Ms.Kanlayanee Fusuwankaya from The Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment – JGSEE, King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi, and the Chiang Rai Provincial Agriculture Office, kickoff meeting of the commencement of a prototype project focused on conducting a case-based analysis of greenhouse gas emissions from the agricultural sector at the provincial level. The project is supported by the Agricultural Research Development Agency (Public Organization).
The objective of this project is to conduct a base case analysis on greenhouse gas emissions from the agricultural sector. The ultimate goal is to actively contribute to policy formulation and support agricultural production that aligns with the vision of a low-carbon society. This includes establishing methods for collecting data that prove compliance with measures and adjusting the carbon price prior to Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism - CBAM. The collaboration showcases a dedicated commitment to addressing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
