On 26 October 2026,Associate Professor Supakorn Pongbangpho, Ph.D.President, University of Phayao (UP), led a delegation to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam from 25–28 October 2026 to strengthen international academic collaboration. The delegation met with executives of the University of Architecture Ho Chi Minh City (UAH), led by Dr. Pham Trong Thuat, and participated in the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), alongside celebrations marking UAH’s 50th anniversary.
Following the signing, both universities discussed joint programs in graphic design and design, including a one-semester student exchange program (Exchange Studio) and a 1+2 ( Joint program and Double degree). Discussions also covered credit transfer, the language of instruction, and quality assurance to expand international learning opportunities and enhance students’ professional skills. These initiatives build on academic activities jointly organized by the two institutions since 2025, including institutional visits, exhibitions, lectures, and student presentations.
The visit underscores UP’s commitment to expanding international partnerships and enhancing educational quality through cross-border collaboration. The delegation is also scheduled to sign an academic cooperation agreement with Can Tho University (CTU), further strengthening educational and research connections between Thailand and Vietnam.
