BCA

On 20 August 2026, the School of Business and Communication Arts held BCA Sharing No. 3 for Fiscal Year 2026 under the theme “Knowledge Sharing on Mental Health Support for Academic Advisors” at the School of Business and Communication Arts Meeting Room (T205).

The event was presided over by Mr. Kamolphong Rattanasanguanwong, Associate Dean for Student Experience and Student Quality Development, who delivered the welcoming remarks and officially opened the event. The activity aimed to enhance knowledge and understanding of student mental health care, while equipping academic advisors with appropriate approaches and essential skills to provide guidance and support to students.

The event featured Ms. Thanyapitcha Singsathit, Head of the Wellness Center, and Ms. Patcharin Khuikham, Clinical Psychologist, from the Counseling Center, Division of Student Affairs, University of Phayao, as resource persons for the knowledge-sharing session. They shared knowledge and practical experience on supporting students’ mental health, including approaches to observing and providing appropriate assistance to students who may be experiencing mental health concerns. Academic advisors and support staff from the School also participated in the activity.

The Counseling Center, University of Phayao, provides mental health and counselling services to students, university personnel, and students of the University of Phayao Demonstration School. Its key services comprise four areas: 1) mental health counselling provided by clinical psychologists; 2) mental health assessment using psychological tests; 3) stress relief through sound-wave therapy; and 4) relaxation massage using an electric massage chair. These services serve as important mechanisms for promoting and supporting the mental well-being of service users.

The activity focused on exchanging knowledge and practical experiences among personnel involved in student care, with particular emphasis on the role of academic advisors as key personnel who are in close contact with students. Academic advisors can play an important role in observing students’ behaviour, listening to their concerns, and appropriately coordinating assistance with relevant university units. The activity also promoted understanding of available channels for accessing the University’s mental health services, enabling students to receive appropriate care and support in accordance with their individual needs.

The knowledge-sharing activity forms part of the School of Business and Communication Arts’ efforts to strengthen its student support system and enhance students’ quality of life. It aims to equip academic advisors and support staff with the knowledge and readiness to provide comprehensive student care and facilitate effective collaboration with the University’s wellness and counselling services. These efforts will contribute to creating an educational environment that supports students’ learning, university life, and sustainable well-being.
