School of Engineering University of Phayao, proudly congratulates students from the Bachelor of Engineering Program in Mechanical Engineering, representing the “UP Mechatech CR” team, on their outstanding achievement of securing 9th place (joint) among the Top 10 teams nationwide, alongside teams from King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi and Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin.
The achievement was attained through their participation in the “BRICS Skill Competition Thailand 2026,” a national competition in artificial intelligence and robotic systems. The competition was held from 19–21 August 2026 at the Kachatharn Conference Room, Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin, Salaya Campus, Nakhon Pathom Province.
The “UP Mechatech CR” team comprises two outstanding students, Mr. Jetsadakorn Thongsa and Mr. Niphitphon Suttawong, under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Purimpat Satthumnuwong. The competition provided an advanced platform for participants to demonstrate both theoretical knowledge and practical competencies, particularly in industrial robotic arm programming using the Dobot MG-400 and the application of artificial intelligence (AI) vision and image-processing technologies.
This achievement represents a significant milestone and a source of great pride for the Mechanical Engineering Program, as it marks the program’s first-ever participation in the competition. Despite being first-time competitors, the team demonstrated remarkable technical capabilities and competitive performance, earning a place among the Top 10 teams at the national level.
Beyond bringing recognition to the School of Engineering and the University of Phayao, this accomplishment serves as tangible evidence of the quality and effectiveness of the program’s engineering education and skills development. It also provides an important source of inspiration and a driving force for future generations of Mechanical Engineering students to continuously enhance their knowledge, technical expertise, and professional competencies, with the aspiration of achieving excellence on the international stage.
