On Friday, July 24, 2026, the Division of Building and Facilities, University of Phayao, welcomed a delegation from the Dok Kham Tai Herbs and Fragrance Community Enterprise. The event was led by Assistant Professor Suwit Panyawong, Vice President for Environment and Landscape, together with Mr. Nattawut Somyarone, Assistant to the President; Mr. Jeerawat Manngan, Director of the Division of Building and Facilities; Mr. Chayut Tanathip, Head of the Garden and Landscape Section; and personnel of the Division of Building and Facilities. The delegation visited the area near the pond at Gate 3, where Dok Kham Tai (Senna siamea) and Fai Luang (kapok/silk cotton) flowers are cultivated and preserved, and also toured the surrounding landscape of the University of Phayao.
On this occasion, the Division of Building and Facilities donated 250 seedlings of Dok Kham Tai (Senna siamea), a valuable local plant species, along with seedlings of Kham Mok Luang (Gardenia sootepensis), the official tree of the University of Phayao. Both varieties were propagated by the Garden and Landscape Section, Division of Building and Facilities, to support research and community product development. The seedlings were received on behalf of the delegation by Mrs. Saowaluck Chaimuang, Dok Kham Tai District Community Development Officer, together with Mr. Anucha Boonyang, Chairman of the Dok Kham Tai Herbs and Fragrance Community Enterprise; Ms. Pemika Boonyang, representative of Moneka Scent and Beauty Co., Ltd.; and Mr. Nattapong Boonkeng, Community Development Volunteer of the Dok Kham Tai District Community Development Office, to further research studies and support the development of value-added products for the community.
This seedling donation reflects the role of the University of Phayao in applying its knowledge and resources to support the development of local communities, through the integration of teaching, research, and academic service. It represents the building of a collaborative network between the university, government sector, and the community, working together to drive the sustainable and strong utilization of local resources, in line with the University of Phayao's motto, "Wisdom for the Strength of the Community." At the same time, it demonstrates the commitment of the Division of Building and Facilities to promoting the conservation of local plant species and the sustainable use of natural resources, in order to create lasting benefits for society, the community, and the environment.
