Electrical Engineering Gain Professional Insights through an Industrial Visit to EGAT Phayao Enhancing Their Pathway toward Becoming Competent Enginee

On 15 July 2026, the Bachelor of Engineering Program in Electrical Engineering School of Engineering University of Phayao, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Kreangsuk Kraikitrat, Chair of the Bachelor of Engineering Program in Electrical Engineering, together with laboratory instructors from the program, organized the “2026 Electrical Engineering Industrial Visit Project” at the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) Phayao. The initiative aimed to promote experiential learning through exposure to real-world professional environments and to strengthen students’ practical engineering competencies.

School of Engineering places strong emphasis on developing students’ professional competencies alongside future-oriented skills aligned with industrial demands and rapid technological advancements. Classroom-based learning alone may not be sufficient to broaden students’ perspectives and cultivate practical experience. Therefore, the project organizers recognized the importance of providing students with opportunities to visit and learn from organizations that play a significant role in the nation’s electrical infrastructure, enabling them to gain firsthand insights into authentic engineering practices and workplace operations.

Throughout the industrial visit, students explored the roles and responsibilities of the Provincial Electricity Authority Phayao, a key organization responsible for managing, operating, and developing the regional electrical distribution system. They gained practical knowledge of power engineering systems, electricity distribution technologies, and contemporary control and automation systems currently implemented in real-world applications. In addition, students received valuable guidance from professional engineers regarding operational procedures, engineering practices, and safety standards within the electrical power sector.

This project served as an effective platform for bridging theoretical knowledge with practical applications, enabling students to develop a deeper understanding of electrical engineering practices and professional workflows. The experience also encouraged students to apply their academic knowledge in future studies and careers while enhancing the capacity development of engineering professionals who will contribute to technological advancement, national infrastructure development, and sustainable societal progress.
