Engineering Organizes Basic First Aid Training to Enhance Student Leaders’ Emergency Response Skills

The Student Affairs Unit School of Engineering University of Phayao, in collaboration with the School of Law, University of Phayao, organized a “Basic First Aid Training Program” under the “Gear Lab ( Student Leadership Development Project)” on 20 May 2026. The program was conducted at Rooms C201 and C202 in the Old Central Classroom Building, as well as the Community Health Practice Laboratory of the School of Public Health, University of Phayao.

The training was attended by members of the Student Council, the Engineering Music Club, Engineering Photo UP, and the School’s Cheerleading Leaders. The initiative aimed to strengthen participants’ knowledge and practical competencies in basic first aid, enabling them to respond to emergency situations accurately, promptly, and effectively.

Throughout the program, participants engaged in a series of lectures and hands-on training sessions covering essential topics, including first aid and emergency assistance, Basic Life Support (BLS), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), the operation of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and the appropriate use of common medications.

The training was delivered by Dr. Kiattisak Ongkulna, Associate Dean for Student Quality Development and Organizational Communication, School of Nursing, University of Phayao. Drawing upon his expertise and professional experience provided comprehensive instruction on emergency first aid and basic life-saving procedures. Participants were also given the opportunity to practice CPR and first aid techniques through realistic simulation-based scenarios, allowing them to apply their newly acquired knowledge and skills in practical situations.

This activity forms part of the School’s ongoing commitment to developing well-rounded student leaders equipped with leadership capabilities, social responsibility, and the ability to provide assistance and support to others. These attributes are essential for fostering high-quality student leadership and preparing students to play a vital role in promoting safety and cultivating a supportive and caring university community in the future.
