UP  Engineering Technology Learning Center Collaborates with Phayao Office for Skill Development to Prepare for the 31st Thailand National Skills Comp

On 26 May 2026, the Engineering Technology Learning Center for Industrial Design and Manufacturing, operated under the School of Engineering, University of Phayao, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Erawin Thavorn, Head of the Center, together with the center’s personnel, collaborated with staff from the Phayao Office for Skill Development to discuss the technical requirements for the regional round of the 31st Thailand National Skills Competition in the CNC Milling and CNC Turning categories. The competition is scheduled to take place from 5–10 July 2026 in Lampang Province.

The meeting focused on preparing competitors, machinery, and technical equipment, as well as establishing competency assessment guidelines aligned with professional standards and the evolving demands of modern industry. These preparations are regarded as a significant mechanism for driving economic development, particularly within advanced manufacturing and smart industrial sectors.

In addition, the delegation visited and encouraged University of Phayao students who will represent the institution in the competition, aiming to strengthen their morale and confidence in demonstrating their technical competencies and professional potential at the regional level. This initiative reflects the strong collaboration between higher education institutions and government agencies in jointly developing a high-quality workforce for the future.

School of Engineering, University of Phayao, and the Phayao Office for Skill Development both place great importance on workforce competency development. Sharing a common vision, the two organizations integrate knowledge in engineering, manufacturing technology, and occupational skill standard assessment to enhance the capabilities of students and regional human resources, enabling them to compete at the national level. The collaboration also aims to produce graduates whose competencies align with industrial demands and support the transition toward future smart industries.

Furthermore, this partnership highlights the university’s role as a hub for human capital development, professional networking, and lifelong learning support. These efforts are considered essential foundations for sustainable economic and social development at both the regional and national levels.
