Associate Professor Supakorn Pongbangpho, Ph.D.President, University of Phayao, assigned Associate Professor Phanintra Teeranon, Ph.D.Assistant to the President t and Assistant Professor Santiwat Pithakpol, Ph.D.Director, Innovation and Technology Transfer Institute to jointly drive the project aimed at transforming teachers from the Department of Learning Encouragement into “Innovative Teachers” in order to strengthen the grassroots economy through Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI).
The University of Phayao plays a key role as a mentor institution in developing areas into Creative Innovation Districts and Learning Villages, while promoting the application of technology and knowledge to sustainably enhance people, communities, and local development.
The initiative is a collaborative effort among the Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), the National Innovation Agency (NIA), and the Department of Learning Encouragement. The project aims to develop more than 100 prototype “Innovative Teachers” and further expand the program to cultivate over 2,500 community innovators nationwide.
The University of Phayao also emphasized that “city development is people development,” highlighting that people are the driving force behind Thailand’s transformation into a truly innovation-driven nation.
