On May 7, 2026, Assistant Professor Dr. Ariya Phaokhrueang, Chair of the Bachelor of Economics Program, School of Business and Communication Arts, University of Phayao, participated in an online academic focus group discussion via Webex to exchange scholarly perspectives and recommendations regarding the revision of the Bachelor of Economics Curriculum (Revised Curriculum, B.E. 2570).

The meeting was hosted by the Faculty of Economics, Kasetsart University Sriracha Campus, and brought together representatives from five higher education institutions in the field of economics, namely the Faculty of Economics at Sriracha, Kasetsart University Sriracha Campus; the Faculty of Economics, Ramkhamhaeng University; the Faculty of Economics, Thammasat University; the School of Business and Communication Arts, University of Phayao; and the School of Economics, Mae Fah Luang University.

During the discussion, participants exchanged academic perspectives on the essential skills and competencies required of economics graduates in the 21st century, including data analytics, digital economy literacy, professional communication skills, adaptability to emerging technologies, and the ability to apply economic knowledge to address real-world challenges.

The initiative reflects collaborative efforts in curriculum development aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, which promotes inclusive, high-quality, and future-oriented education through academic collaboration among higher education institutions. The initiative also supports SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth by fostering the development of highly qualified graduates who are well prepared for the future economy and the evolving digital labor market.

This academic focus group discussion marks another significant step in strengthening the network of economics scholars in collaboratively designing a curriculum that responds effectively to global changes, promotes experiential and context-based learning, and enhances the competitiveness of economics graduates at both national and international levels.
