School of Liberal Arts Participates in International Research Empowerment Program:
"Crafting a Competitive Fulbright Research Proposal"
On Thursday, January 8, 2026, the School of Liberal Arts participated in the "International Research Empowerment Program" organized by the International Relations Unit, Division of Educational Services, University of Phayao. The workshop, titled “Crafting a Competitive Fulbright Research Proposal,” was held at the Baworn Rattanaprasit Meeting Room, Office of the President. On this occasion, Asst. Prof. Dr. Chonthida Thephinlap, Vice President for Academic Affairs, delivered the welcoming remarks and officially opened the project, emphasizing the importance of enhancing the capacity to produce high-quality scholarly work at an international level.
The keynote session featured Professor Dr. Timothy E. O’Brien from Loyola University Chicago, USA, who shared his extensive expertise and experience in writing effective Fulbright research proposals. His lecture covered essential components, including research design, formulating objectives, highlighting the distinctive nature of a project, and key considerations for succeeding in international competition.
The School of Liberal Arts joined this initiative to gain specific recommendations on proposal preparation, access up-to-date resources, and identify project frameworks suitable for language pedagogy and linguistics. The participation also fostered a knowledge exchange to strengthen skills in developing international research proposals, which will lead to the elevation of academic output and the expansion of opportunities for international research funding in the future. This activity reflects the University of Phayao’s commitment to academic excellence, researcher empowerment, and the sustainable growth of international academic collaboration networks.
