On Friday, 31 October 2025, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Montra Pongnil, Dean of the School of Political and Social Sciences, University of Phayao, together with Dr. Rakkiet Intabtun, Deputy Dean for Student Development and Alumni Relations, participated in a royal merit-making almsgiving ceremony dedicated to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.
The ceremony was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supakorn Pongsabangpo, President of the University of Phayao, and organized by the Lanna Art and Culture Center at the King Naresuan the Great Monument Court, University of Phayao.
The event aimed to pay tribute and express profound gratitude for Her Majesty’s immeasurable benevolence. The ceremony included:
- Buddhist chanting
- Offering of Sangkhadana (monk requisites) to eight monks
- Meditation practice dedicated as royal merit
- Almsgiving of dry food and rice
University executives, faculty members, staff, and students attended the ceremony in great numbers.
The University of Phayao scheduled this activity to be held every Friday throughout November 2025 (7, 14, and 21 November) to provide opportunities for staff and students from all Schools to join in making merit in tribute to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.
The School of Political and Social Sciences will also serve as a co-host of the royal merit-making almsgiving ceremony on Friday, 21 November 2025, as a gesture of loyalty and heartfelt gratitude for Her Majesty’s boundless grace.
