On Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Supakorn Pongbangpho, President of the University of Phayao, presided over a ceremony to celebrate the birthday anniversary of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The event was attended by administrators and staff, including vice presidents, deans, Assistant to the President, directors, and university personnel, who gathered to sign a book of well-wishes for the Princess. The ceremony was held at the Multipurpose Hall, located on the 1st Floor of the Office of the President at the University of Phayao.
After the signing ceremony, university administrators and staff took part in the "UP Volunteer Spirit" initiative by planting royal cotton trees at the Royal Cotton Garden, located at the University of Phayao. This garden is dedicated to researching and cultivating indigenous perennial cotton varieties found in northern Thailand, in honor of Her Royal Highness's dedication to agricultural and environmental conservation.

On April 2nd, we celebrate the birthday anniversary of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, which is also known as Thai Heritage Conservation Day. She was born on Saturday, April 2, 1955, at Amphorn Sathan Residential Hall in Dusit Palace. She was given the royal title Princess Sirindhorn Theprattanashuda Kitivadhana Dulsopa.
During 2019 the Royal Coronation Ceremony, His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua issued a royal command granting the official title, as inscribed on the Royal Golden Plaque, to: Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, The Princess Royal, Maha Vajiralongkorn Warirakphakdee Sirikitkar.
