On August 28-29, 2024, the Skill Standard Testing Center of the University of Phayao (School of Engineering) organized the National Skill Standard Testing for the profession of Automatic Milling Machine Technicians, Level 1. The event was held at the Industrial Engineering Laboratory, School of Engineering, University of Phayao. The target group included university students, and the general public. The testing was divided into two parts: the theoretical exam, focusing on knowledge and understanding of CNC milling machines, and the practical exam, assessing the ability to operate CNC milling machines. Experts from the Department of Skill Development oversaw and ensured that the testing process adhered to the department’s standards.
For this training session, special thanks go to Mr. Yothin Uthawang, Mr. Kanthanapat Inma, Mr. Rittidet Promdam, and Mr. Anupong Chomkan for supervising the theoretical exam, focusing on the knowledge and understanding of CNC milling machines, and the practical exam for the participants. A total of 22 participants took part in the training, all of whom passed the assessment. The participants included 13 students from the Industrial Engineering program, 5 staff members from the School of Engineering, and 4 personnel from Phayao Technical College.
Those who pass the training will receive a certificate of passing the skill standard test, which can be used as part of their job application documents both domestically and internationally, increasing their employment opportunities. Additionally, passing the National Skill Standard Test can help individuals gain fairer wages, advance in their careers, and potentially move up to higher job positions.
The Skill Standard Testing Center of the University of Phayao conducts the National Skill Standard Testing at least twice a year, in line with the vision of the School of Engineering, University of Phayao, to be a "Engineering learning resources for industry and community" This initiative aims to enhance both industrial and community development through skill training and certification.
