University of Phayao, Joins MOU Signing to Advance RLU

          The School of Allied Health Sciences, University of Phayao, has taken part in advancing healthcare and health professional education policies within Health Region 1 through its participation in a workshop and the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the development of an educational framework for Rational Laboratory Use (RLU). The initiative aims to integrate the principles of appropriate laboratory test utilization into teaching and learning processes, as well as quality patient care, serving as a vital mechanism in strengthening Thailand’s healthcare system in a sustainable manner.

          On 21 May 2026, Assistant Professor Dr. Puttipong Poncumhak, Dean of the School of Allied Health Sciences, University of Phayao, attended the Workshop on Knowledge Exchange and the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing Ceremony for the Advancement of Rational Laboratory Use (RLU) Education Systems in Health Region 1 for the Fiscal Year 2026, held at Centara Riverside Hotel Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai.

          The event was organized by the Health Region 1 Office with the objective of promoting the integration of Rational Laboratory Use concepts into medical and multidisciplinary professional education, while also strengthening collaborative networks among educational institutions and healthcare service providers across Health Region 1. The initiative seeks to enhance the efficiency of laboratory service systems in terms of quality, cost-effectiveness, and the maximization of patient benefits.

          The program also featured the official MOU signing ceremony to jointly advance Rational Laboratory Use (RLU) initiatives in collaboration with medical and public health network partners, alongside academic lectures and panel discussions led by distinguished scholars and experts from leading educational institutions and hospitals throughout Northern Thailand.

          The participation of the School of Allied Health Sciences, University of Phayao, in this significant event reflects the School’s strong commitment to advancing the quality of education and professional standards, as well as fostering academic and professional collaborations aimed at enhancing the quality of healthcare services and improving the well-being of the Thai people.
