BCA Student Council Promotes the Spirit of Giving through “Give To Grow” Initiative, Creating Positive Social Impact

BCA

On 21 May 2026, the Student Council of the School of Business and Communication Arts (BCA), led by Mr. Wasupich Thaphasiriwet and council members, in collaboration with the Student Development and Quality Enhancement Unit of the School of Business and Communication Arts, represented by Ms. Thipaporn Ngoenyen, Head of Academic Affairs, and Mr. Thanayut Chaengmongkol, Educational Officer, organized the “Give To Grow: Sharing Happiness through Giving” activity at the Kuekul Home and the Camillian Social Center Children’s Welfare Institution in Chiang Rai Province. The initiative aimed to provide encouragement, care, and support to children with disabilities through volunteer activities and the donation of essential supplies, educational materials, and daily necessities.

Beyond the provision of material support, the activity served as an experiential learning opportunity that enabled students to appreciate the value of generosity, develop a deeper understanding of social diversity, and recognize their responsibilities as socially engaged citizens. Through direct participation and meaningful interaction with the community, students were encouraged to cultivate empathy, compassion, and a stronger commitment to public service.

Throughout the program, participating students engaged in conversations, relationship-building activities, and recreational interactions with children at the welfare institution in an atmosphere characterized by friendship, mutual respect, and shared happiness. These experiences contributed to the development of essential transferable skills, including leadership, teamwork, interpersonal communication, and emotional intelligence, all of which are increasingly important for personal and professional success in contemporary society.

The outcomes of the initiative reflected meaningful growth in students’ civic awareness, social responsibility, and public-mindedness. At the same time, the activity provided emotional support and encouragement to the children and youth under the institution’s care by fostering a sense of inclusion, recognition, and community support. The project therefore created shared value for both the educational institution and the local community through collaborative social engagement.

Furthermore, the “Give To Grow: Sharing Happiness through Giving” initiative demonstrates the School of Business and Communication Arts’ commitment to developing graduates who possess both academic competence and ethical integrity. The project aligns closely with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by promoting experiential learning and the development of responsible citizenship competencies. It also contributes to SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities through support for vulnerable groups and the promotion of equal opportunities, as well as SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by fostering collaboration among students, university personnel, and community organizations to generate positive and sustainable social impact.

This initiative serves as a meaningful example of how giving extends beyond the donation of material resources. It represents the sharing of hope, inspiration, and compassion—values that can generate lasting benefits for both individuals and society. In this regard, “Give To Grow” embodies the belief that every act of giving creates opportunities for growth, not only for those who receive support, but also for those who choose to give
