Engineering Drives the Construction Sector into the Digital Era with “AI Construction Master”

Engineering Drives the Construction Sector into the Digital Era with “AI Construction Master”

On 26 February 2026, School of Engineering, University of Phayao, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Apichat Buakla, Associate Dean for Administration and Special Affairs, together with faculty members and supporting staff, participated in a hands-on training program on the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the preparation of construction reference prices. The program, entitled “AI Construction Master: Elevating Construction Practices with an Intelligent AI Assistant” was held at the Active Learning Classroom, CE Building, University of Phayao.

The initiative aimed to enhance personnel capacity in applying digital technologies and AI to cost data analysis, material price calculation, and the systematic preparation of reference prices. Emphasis was placed on data-driven methodologies to improve accuracy, minimize human computational errors, and optimize workflow efficiency in alignment with legally mandated regulations and standards. Such efforts constitute a critical mechanism for strengthening transparency, accountability, and good governance in public procurement and contracting processes.

The training was honored by the presence of Mr. Sophon Musikasang, Chief Executive Officer of Costnine Co., Ltd., a specialist in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and AI technologies for construction. He delivered expert lectures and facilitated an interactive workshop, enabling participants to engage with AI tools through simulated scenarios. This experiential learning approach fostered a deeper understanding of procedural frameworks and equipped attendees with practical competencies to effectively integrate AI technologies into their professional practice.
