Engineering UP Welcomes QTC Energy to Enhance Learning Experiences in Electrical Power Engineering

On 20 January 2025, School of Engineering, University of Phayao, led by Assistant Professor Duangdee Saenrak, a lecturer in the Bachelor of Engineering Program in Electrical Engineering, hosted and warmly welcomed QTC Energy Public Company Limited as part of activity entitled “QTC CAMPUS TOUR: Senior-to-Junior Knowledge Sharing 2026” The activity was organized for third-year undergraduate students in the Electrical Engineering program and took place at Room EN 4206, School of Engineering Building, University of Phayao. On this occasion, Associate Professor Dr. Nattapong Damrongwiriyanupap, Dean of the School of Engineering, honored the event by joining the welcoming delegation.

The event was further honored by the presence of Mr. Thanawat Kongniam, Domestic Sales Manager (QTC Energy POL), who served as a guest speaker. He introduced the roles, missions, and strategic direction of QTC Energy Public Company Limited, a leading national manufacturer of power transformers and energy system equipment. The lecture integrated academic knowledge with real-world industrial experience through comprehensive and up-to-date topics, including:

  • Updates on Thailand’s national power development plans, aimed at enhancing knowledge, understanding, and awareness of sustainable energy conservation
  • Definitions and classifications of power transformers
  • Key components and fundamental manufacturing processes of power transformers
  • High-efficiency transformers (Super Low Loss Transformers)
  • Transformer losses and their impacts on power systems
  • Dry-type cast resin transformers
  • Smart transformer monitoring and diagnostic systems

This activity exemplifies the effective integration of collaboration between higher education institutions and the industrial sector, in alignment with the principles of active learning and competency-based education. It emphasizes experiential learning through direct engagement with industry professionals, thereby fostering in-depth understanding of electrical engineering, energy systems, and emerging technologies. Moreover, the initiative contributes significantly to preparing students for high-quality professional practice in the engineering workforce of the future.
