Engineering UP Welcomes Students from Maechanwittayakhom School to Enhance Mathematical Learning Experiences toward the World of Engineering

The School of Engineering, University of Phayao, through its Academic Affairs and Quality Assurance Division, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Wasana Nagu, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Quality Assurance, warmly welcomed a delegation of teachers and more than 107 Grade 11 students from Maechanwittayakhom School, Pa Sang Subdistrict, Mae Chan District, Chiang Rai Province. The visit took place on the occasion of their participation in the “Engineering Learning Resource Exploration Activity,” organized as part of an educational field trip for students enrolled in the Science–Mathematics Program at the upper secondary level, under the Student Mathematics Potential Enhancement Project. The activity was held on 19 January 2026 at the School of Engineering, University of Phayao.

The primary objective of this activity was to promote off-campus experiential learning by providing students with opportunities to engage with academic learning resources, particularly by linking mathematical knowledge with its practical applications in engineering contexts. Such learning experiences are intended to enhance analytical thinking skills, foster systematic problem-solving abilities, and cultivate an appreciation of local identity and Thai cultural values. In addition, the activity aimed to promote meaningful coexistence amid diversity and differences, while enabling students to apply mathematical knowledge sustainably in their everyday lives.

On this occasion, Associate Professor Dr. Nattapong Damrongwiriyanupap, Dean of the School of Engineering, also honored the event by joining the welcoming session. He delivered an introductory lecture presenting an overview of the School, its academic programs across various engineering disciplines, approaches to student development in accordance with the Thai Qualifications Framework for Higher Education, as well as current educational trends and future career pathways in the field of engineering.

Furthermore, the visiting teachers and students were given guided tours of engineering laboratories and key learning facilities within the School. These activities were designed to enrich learning experiences, broaden educational perspectives, and inspire students to pursue further studies in engineering at the higher education level in the future.
