Engineering UP Conducts an Intensive Workshop on PLO–CLO Development to Advance TABEE Accreditation

School of Engineering, University of Phayao, organized an Intensive Workshop on “The Development of Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) and Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) toward Course Portfolio Preparation for TABEE” Accreditation on 11 December 2025 at the School Meeting Room EN1104. The workshop was held for School members within the School of Engineering with the objective of strengthening academic capacity and ensuring systematic readiness for accreditation under the Thailand Accreditation Board of Engineering Education (TABEE).

The workshop was honored by the presence of distinguished speakers: Assistant Professor Dr. Sumol Saeheng Phisit Sanghakan, Associate Dean for Organizational Administration, and Associate Professor Dr. Nararatchaporn Nuansawan, Head of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Technology, College of Industrial Technology, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok. The speakers delivered expert lectures and shared practical insights on key topics, including:

  • The formulation and alignment of Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) and Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs); and
  • The preparation of Course Portfolios to support institutional readiness for TABEE accreditation.

The executive leadership of the School of Engineering, led by Associate Professor Dr. Nattapong Damrongwiriyanupap, Dean of the School, together with Assistant Professor Dr. Wassana Naku, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Quality Assurance, emphasized the strategic importance of enhancing graduate quality and professional competencies in alignment with clearly defined learning outcomes. The School adopts the principles of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) as a foundational framework, which is consistently applied by TABEE and the Engineering Council of Thailand in evaluating the standards and quality of engineering programs.

This initiative aims to ensure that instructional design and assessment practices among School members are coherently aligned, academically rigorous, and responsive to professional engineering standards. Moreover, the workshop served as an effective platform for the exchange of experiences, best practices, and scholarly dialogue, thereby strengthening School readiness to design courses and systematically develop documentary evidence in accordance with TABEE guidelines with efficiency and academic integrity.
