School of Liberal Arts, University of Phayao Undergoes Field Research Evaluation under the UP Sustainable Development Goals and Reinventing University Project at Insee Arsa Border Patrol Police Education Center, Pong District.


October 31, 2025 The School of Liberal Arts, University of Phayao, was evaluated for its field research implementation under the UP Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Reinventing University Project at Insee Arsa Border Patrol Police Education Center, Pong District.


The field evaluation was led by Professor Dr. Samer Thanoi, Vice President for Research and Innovation, University of Phayao, together with the evaluation committee comprising: Associate Professor Dr. Jedsada Mingchai, Vice President, Uttaradit Rajabhat University Dr. Warach Matayomburut Associate Professor Dr. Chatmongkon Suwannapoom and Assistant Professor Dr. Komsak Pinta. The committee visited and evaluated research projects funded by the University of Phayao, which aim to integrate research with academic service at the community level to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) under the Reinventing University framework.


The projects include: Project under SDGs: “Enhancing Language Learning Achievement through Play-Based Learning Activities” Project Leaders: Dr. Phitsinee Satiantaradol, Dr. Chanapha Duangfai, and Dr. Chansak Siangyen.


Project under the Reinventing University Project: “Enhancing Language Learning Achievement through Gamification Activities” Project Leaders: Asst. Prof. Dr. Komkrit Tachom and Asst. Prof. Dr. Phitchsinee Sae-Tiantaradol.


The implementation was also supported by faculty administrators and researchers from various disciplines, including: Mr. Natthaworn Wonjitratorn, Associate Dean for Student Quality (Chinese Program); Dr. Ittiphol Buayoi, Assistant Dean (Japanese Program); and Mr. Anurak Chaihang, Lecturer (Thai Program).


This field evaluation was part of the University of Phayao’s monitoring and assessment of research and academic service integration projects conducted between October 20–31, 2025, aimed at promoting the advancement of the SDGs at the local level. On this occasion, Asst. Prof. Dr. Chittima Kaweera, Dean of the School of Liberal Arts, delivered a warm welcome to the evaluation committee and presented the school’s commitment to addressing literacy challenges among local students.


The School’s presentation highlighted the integration of linguistic knowledge and play-based learning to enhance communication and learning skills among ethnic minority students in the target areas. These initiatives reflect the significant role of the School of Liberal Arts, University of Phayao, in improving the quality of local education and realizing its vision of becoming a “Language Innovation Institute for Community Quality of Life Enhancement.” This commitment aligns with the School’s mission to promote knowledge in language and culture for sustainable social and community development.
