The School of Engineering, University of Phayao, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanakarn Suankan and Lecturer Anothai Klakarnkhai, served as representatives accompanying engineering students to participate in the 4th Robotics and Automation Control Competition Utilizing Industry 4.0 Technologies. The event was held from 15–17 October 2025 at Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC), Hall EH 99, Bangkok. It was organized by the Office of the Vocational Education Commission in collaboration with six universities and vocational education institutes nationwide.
In this competition, the Bachelor of Engineering Program in Electrical Engineering competed in Category 7: Electric Vehicle System Inspection, while the Bachelor of Engineering Program in Industrial Engineering competed in Category 6: Virtual Industrial Factory Construction. Furthermore, students also participated in a hands-on workshop on industrial robot programming using the Visual Components software, aiming to enhance their technical competencies and specialized professional skills.
Electrical Engineering students Mr. Atitiphong Sangthong and Mr. Thanawat Paramee proudly won 4th place in Category 7: Electric Vehicle System Inspection. Their achievement exemplifies dedication, perseverance, and the practical application of electrical engineering knowledge in solving real-world problems effectively. The competition in this category emphasized core competencies in maintenance, equipment inspection, and diagnostics of electric vehicles (EVs) using specialized instruments such as electrical measuring tools, electric vehicles, diagnostic scanners, and PPE equipment. These activities aim to develop students into competent technicians and next-generation engineers equipped with the skills and capabilities that meet the demands of the modern industrial era under the Industry 4.0 paradigm.
