The University of Phayao hosted the 15th Phayao Research Conference under the theme “SDG Global Connect: Learning from Best Practices” during 26–27 January 2026 at the University of Phayao. The conference reaffirmed the University’s role as an area-based higher education institution in driving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the integration of academic knowledge, research, and multi-sectoral collaboration. The opening ceremony was presided over by Adjunct Professor Athapol Yaisawang, Chairman of the University Council, while Associate Professor Supakorn Pongbangpho, Ph.D.President, University of Phayao, delivered the conference objectives.
The conference highlighted the translation of research outcomes into social, environmental, and economic impacts. A key initiative, the “One Faculty, One SDG” project, generated significant value for local communities, with several projects achieving social and economic returns exceeding tenfold, as measured by Social Return on Investment (SROI).
Key activities included an international academic forum, the presentation of 105 research papers across health sciences, science and technology, and humanities and social sciences, as well as exhibitions showcasing area-based development research and innovation. The event also presented outcomes from the HR Reinventing University initiative and honored outstanding researchers and organizational units, underscoring the University of Phayao’s commitment to connecting local research to the global stage in support of sustainable development.
