The University of Phayao has won the first prize in the “GEN Z NO SONZ Youth NO L” campaign for the 2025 academic year under the Alcohol Literacy University Network Project, reflecting the strong potential of university students in driving positive social change and promoting alcohol awareness among young people.
Assistant Professor Wuthichai Chairinkam, Ph.D.Vice President for Student Quality, assigned Mr. Thanat Fusaeng, Head of Student Discipline Division, together with university staff and students, to participate in the project’s outcome-sharing forum and receive the award alongside representatives from 18 higher education institutions across Thailand.
The award highlights the University of Phayao’s success in creating innovative and engaging campaign activities that effectively reached young audiences, encouraged student participation, and promoted positive values and healthy lifestyles in a creative and sustainable way.
Receiving this award demonstrates that young people can truly become a powerful force for social change. Although the campaign began with small activities, collective action and communication among youth can create meaningful impact. Beyond alcohol-awareness advocacy, the team hopes to inspire young people to choose values that do not harm themselves. While drinking is often seen as a normal part of socializing, there are many other positive ways for young people to connect, such as participating in sports, volunteer activities, and knowledge-sharing activities, all of which can foster happiness and a healthier society.
