UPSR – Volunteer Spirit Operation Center, Division of Student Affairs, University of Phayao, together with the Center of Environmental and Sustainable Management, has successfully completed the environmental initiative “Bring Caps with Me”, turning post-consumer plastic waste into practical benefits for society and local communities.
The project has successfully collected a total of 146,818 plastic bottle caps, which were then recycled into 1,727 plastic hangers. These hangers will be distributed to communities in need, aiming to reduce inequalities in access to basic supplies and promoting circular waste management within the university.
Beyond social benefits, the project generated positive environmental impacts by reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 180.93 kgCO₂eq, contributing significantly to sustainable waste reduction and showing how individual actions can support real environmental change.
The initiative not only promotes waste recycling, but also empowers students to participate in sustainable development. It also strengthens environmental awareness, and encourages more responsible consumption patterns both within and outside of the university.
The University of Phayao extends its appreciation to all students and supporters whose contributions have helped transform daily waste into social value. The University will continue to advance environmental volunteerism and sustainability projects for the benefit of the community and the planet.
