On December 13, 2023, the School of Energy and Environment (SEEN), University of Phayao (UP), organized a practical training program on "Fire Safety and Evacuation Drills" for students and staff of SEEN. The aim was to enhance knowledge in occupational safety and survival skills in emergencies, including disasters. The event was welcomed and inaugurated by Assistant Dean, Asst. Prof. Dr. Supreeda Homklin, and Dr. Wanawan Pragot was the project instructor.
In the morning session, theoretical training was conducted, covering knowledge about the components of fire, types of fire, and relevant laws. Participants also engaged in practical exercises on fire evacuation, learning to identify types of fires in real situations, and basic firefighting using fire extinguishers of types A, B, and C. The experienced team of instructors included Mr. Wasan Sanjitt, an expert in disaster prevention and mitigation (Maenarua Subdistrict Administrative Organization - SAO), FS1. Noppadol Duangkeaw, an expert in disaster prevention and mitigation (Maesai SAO), and CPO3. Nattawut Jamras, an expert in disaster prevention and mitigation (Office of Dok Kham Town Municipality). They provided informative lectures throughout the day at SEEN-UP, amidst the participants' interest.
