AHS curated a non-degree program in ‘’Skill improvement of caregiver for elderly and primary care unit staff.’’

On 9th – 11th Aug, 2023, School of Allied Health Sciences led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ajchamon  Thammachai, Ph.D, Assistance to AHS Dean, hosted a non-degree program in ‘’Skill improvement of caregiver for elderly and primary care unit staff’’, which was held at Maejai Health Centre, Maejai, Phayao.

The primary aim of the degree was to encourage the attendees to gain knowledge and skills for elderly quality of life management, laboratory approached in primary health care services, and potential development for personnel and networks. The courses involving caregiver managements and long-term care approaches were utilized for elderly and disabled in the designed neighborhood. The event provided opportunities for participants to gain extra skills on knowledge and recent updates in practices.

The topics were as follows.

  1. Essential skills for elderly quality of life; management and developments skills curated by Dr Sinthuporn Maharan,PT, with Dr Chonticha Kaewjoho, PT and Mr Chakkraphan Hongluek, PT, as an assistance.
  2. Falling; assessment and evaluation in elderly and disabled curated by Dr Chonticha Kaewjoho, PT with Dr Sinthuporn Maharan,PT, Mr Chakkraphan Hongluek, PT, as an assistant.
  3. Practice in physical therapy in patients suffering from falling curated by Dr Suphannika Ladawan, PT, with Dr Sinthuporn Maharan,PT, and Mr Chakkraphan Hongluek, PT, as an assistant.
  4. practice in elderly diagnosed as  bedridden patients curated by Dr Suphannika Ladawan, PT, with Dr. Ajchamon  Thammachai, PT,  Mr Chakkraphan Hongluek, PT, as an assistant.
  5. Standard laboratory in primary health care centre curated by Dr. Philaiphon Jongruamklang, MT, with Dr. Sittiporn Suwannamit, MT and Dr. Aksarakorn Kummasook, MT, as an assistant.
  6. Practice in primary health care centre Laboratory curated by Dr. Aksarakorn Kummasook, MT with Dr. Philaiphon Jongruamklang, MT, and Dr. Sittiporn Suwannamit, MT as an assistant.

Up to 24 hours of intensive courses (8 hrs for theories and 16 hrs for practices) was performed with 30 participants attending the course. The event was supported by centre for elderly and disability development, Maijai County and Maejai Health Centre in association with health volunteers in the region.
