Wai Kru Ceremony: The Culture of Respect

Respectis one of the human transaction mechanisms for success. When used with sincerity and poise, it copiously yields countless benefits to both the giver and the receiver.  It is normal to see people perform much better in whatever tasked assigned when they feel respected. As Wai Kru Ceremony, or teacher appreciation celebration, simply allows the students to formally pay respect and gratitude to their teachers, a good relationship between teachers and students is automatically built. Such relationship entails enthusiasm and dedication in the teacherspart. Not surprisingly, the students who give respect and gratitude to their teachers are the ones to receive such and such good result generated by their dedicated teachers. To give is to get, in other words.

On June 17, 2023, Chiang Rai Campus, led by Associate Professor Dr. Tipchan Wongchanta, Director, held a 2023 Wai Kru Ceremony at Room 503. Joining the ceremony were administrators and teachers from School of Education, University of Phayao, staff of Chiang Rai Campus, and masters degree students from the 3 majors currently offered at the Campus: namely, Education Administration major, Curriculum and Instruction major, and Applied Geoinformatics major.





The Wai Kru ceremony typically includes chanting and offering flowers by the students and the teachersblessings. Chiang Rai Campus students professionally performed and observed every step of the ceremony, leaving great appreciation to the teachers, students, and participants alike.
