The University of Phayao and Hainan University of Education in the People's Republic of China signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Intensive Chinese Language Training

On Friday, April 7, 2023, the University of Phayao and Hainan University of Education in the People's Republic of China signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Intensive Chinese Language Training (New Version), aimed at enhancing cooperation and exchange of teaching and learning between Thailand and China. As part of the agreement, students majoring in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Chinese Language at the University of Phayao will be provided with the opportunity to learn Chinese, and a meeting will be held to explore further educational collaboration and medical education exchange. The MOU was signed by Associate Professor Supakorn Pongbangpho, Ph.D. President, University of Phayao, along with Assistant Professor Somkid Juwa, Ph.D. Dean, School of Public Health, and Assistant Professor Chittima Kaweera, Ph.D. Dean, School of Liberal Arts, in the presence of MR. LIN QIANG, President of Hainan University of Education.

During the memorandum of understanding signing ceremony, Associate Professor Tipchan Wongchanta, Ph.D. Director, University of Phayao Chiang Rai Campus, was joined by Dr. Varangkana Klaching, Chairperson of the Graduate Program in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Mr. Boonkiat Benjalert, an expert in the Bachelor of Chinese Medicine Program.

This MOU on intensive Chinese language training (New Version) between the University of Phayao and Hainan University of Education in the People's Republic of China is a renewal of an existing agreement that has expired, to strengthen cooperation and exchange of teaching and learning between Thailand and China. It includes details such as the duration of the study, which will take place from September every year until the month of August the following year, with the study period extending until June of the following year. The validity of this MOU is 5 years.
